Why Use Job Boards?

Did you know that there are about 500 Job Boards in the UK!

Every company or recruitment agency in the UK uses at least one Job Board to find the skills they need for their business. So logically the more job boards you register your details on the more exposure you will have to potential employers. Only a small percentage of jobs end up in the papers or the job centre’s now, they are a dying service for job seekers as many articles in the press will verify.

If you want to find work anywhere in the UK, you need to use internet job boards to help you find work simply because ALL employers today are looking there NOW to find skills that you have.

The Job Boards offer the recruiter instant access to potential new employees, they can search by location and skill to find the best matching CV’s for their vacancy. They also use these Job Boards to advertise their vacancies. The problem for recruiters however is the cost – each Job Board is individual and charges individually. This is a bit like advertising a job in a national paper – which one do you choose? Also can you imagine if the paper then managed to allow you to find CV’s from a database of candidates? This is the issue with Job Boards be it Agencies or direct Employers, access to ALL the sites is very unusual they only tend to choose one or perhaps two, whatever your industry or skill set we know that you need to be on at least eight Job Boards so that the majority of recruiters can find you.

When you have looked for a job before have you restricted your search to just one paper? Obviously not but the majority of new job seekers believe it or not only put their CV details onto one Job Board.
